Seven Medical Myths Debunked
Many people believe that drinking eight glasses of water a day is imperative for good health and that reading in dim light will damage one's eyes. Researchers performed an in-depth study of these and other commonly held beliefs and exposed seven theories as little more than "medical myths." They found no scientific basis for the claim that drinking eight glasses of water a day keeps a person healthy and say it is unlikely that reading in dim light will permanently damage vision. They also investigated the use of cellular phones in hospitals and found that the phones pose little danger to patients, interfering only minimally with medical equipment.
