Questions about Cell Phones and Cancer

While a number of scientific studies have found no evidence of a link between cell phone use and cancer risk, the head of a prominent US cancer research institute is warning people not to rule out the possibility that long-term cell phone use can lead to increased risk of brain tumors. The doctor’s recent memo to staffers, which recommends that adults try to keep cell phones away from their heads and that cell phone use among children be kept to a minimum, was based on early findings from unpublished data suggesting that exposure to the electromagnetic radiation emitted by the devices may be linked to a number of adverse health effects, including cancer.
